Women on the Verge, an online community of women tackle the topic of Social Media and
its effects on the world’s culture and the individuals utilizing it.
“Social media spark a revelation that we, the people, have a voice, and through the
democratization of content and ideas we can once again unite around common
passions, inspire movements, and ignite change.”
― Brian Solis, “Engage: The Complete Guide for Brands and Businesses to
Build, Cultivate, and Measure Success in the New Web”
An online community of women tackle the topic of Social Media and its effects on the world’s culture and the
individuals that are living in it.
‘Social Media: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly’ is the topic of the month that the Women on the Verge
members will explore via their online community blogs, Twitter, Vlogs and BlogTalkRadio show. "Women on the Verge is a community founded by Social Media. Most of us initially met on Twitter and have grown our relationships and community from there. This is very positive. However, there is also the under-belly of social media that not many of us like to recognize. Cyber-bullying, gossip, public-shaming are just some of the things that are opened up in a global environment for the
whole world to see. That is why we need to talk about the good, the bad and the ugly of Social Media. So we can handle this groundbreaking situation more responsibly and do better," says founder and member Ana Lewis about the topic of the month.
Tune into ‘Social Media: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly’ on BlogTalkRadio (BTR), where some of the WOTV members will talk about their blogs. The show is scheduled for April 17th, 6-6:30 p.m. EST and can be listened to worldwide on
the WOTV and BTR websites. WOTV member/ radio show panelists include: Jessica Mason Pieklo, women's rights
activist and attorney; Dawn Rivers, political junkie and micro-business expert; and Elin Stebbins Waldal, author of “Tornado Warning, A Memoir of Teen Dating Violence and Its Effect on a Woman's Life” and founder of Girls kNOw. Listen to the BTR show at: http://blogtalkradio.com/womenontheverge.
